With VOOM, you only pay for the miles you drive plus a low monthly base rate.
At the end of the month, you send us a photo of your odometer and we calculate the miles you rode. We add those miles at your per-mile rate to your base rate, and that’s what you pay. It really is that simple.
Here is an example - John has a base rate of $15 and a per mile rate of $0.09. He rode 100 miles this month, so his monthly total is $24

Yes. VOOM is regulated as an insurance producer (agency). The company is licensed in the following states:
This is exactly what per-mile insurance is for!
While your policy cannot be paused, if you don’t ride, you do not pay the per mile rate, and you have the option of removing any coverages that you are not using, (and that are not mandated by the state or a lienholder) - during that period of time.
An uninsured motorist is one that does not carry insurance.
An underinsured motorist is one that does not carry enough insurance.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily injury coverage provides that if you suffer bodily injury, sickness, disease, or death resulting from an accident with a hit-and-run driver or a person who does not carry liability insurance (uninsured), or does not carry sufficient limits of liability insurance (underinsured), and if that person is at fault, you may make a claim against your own insurance company for damages rather than against the uninsured/underinsured motorist.
Your monthly payment has two parts - a fixed monthly rate and a per-mile rate.
You will receive a monthly reminder by email and text message, with a link to upload your updated odometer photo. After uploading, you will be charged according to the miles you rode!
Steve Jones has a policy with an $8 fixed monthly rate and 10c per mile rate.
If Steve rides 100 miles in a particular month, his per-mile rate will be $10 and his overall monthly payment will be $18.

To define the number of miles you ride, all we ask for is a photo of your odometer! We care about your privacy so we do not use any location or tracking devices.
We will send you a series of monthly reminders via text and email when it's time to send in your odometer reading.
Each text and email will have a hyperlink that you click on to automatically open the camera in your smartphone. Simply take a photo of your odometer, and the image is automatically transmitted to our computers where our system takes care of the rest.
The credit card on file will be billed, and coverage will be continued automatically. You can choose to send a new odometer image every month in order to keep the rate based on your mileage. If not, each month you will be charged based on a default mileage. For more information - How will I be charged if I forget to upload my odometer image?

By paying a premium for uninsured motorist coverage for the motorcycle listed on your policy, this coverage will pay damages for bodily injury which any insured is legally entitled to recover from the owner or operator of an uninsured motor vehicle. An uninsured motor vehicle means that the driver does not have coverage to pay for damages to others. In some cases the uninsured driver will pay out of pocket, but this is not the standard. For this reason, you can opt to protect yourself from such situations and file a claim through your policy. For this coverage to take effect, the bodily injury must be caused by an accident and arise out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of the uninsured motor vehicle.
Our policy specifically excludes any losses that arise from/at an organized event, which would include things like training courses or other track events. However, if you are riding your bike at a track on your own and not part of any event that is taking place, coverage could still be provided.
It's important to understand that the traditional auto insurance policies exclude any commercial activity unless there's a rideshare endorsement. With your rideshare platform you are covered with a minimal state liability minimum, while with VOOM, you can enjoy an Hybrid policy that exceeds the platform coverage and offers excess liability in including Physical damage, UM/UIM, Medical Payment.
By adding this coverage to your policy, if you are stuck or have an accident anywhere in the US, this coverage will provide you with 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. The expense to tow your motorcycle will be covered, and you will have access to delivery of supplies, emergency tire and battery services, customized road mapping services, and a locksmith.
There is no limit to the number of motorcycles that can be listed on your policy.

VOOM offers different types of coverages according to your needs. Our policies help protect you from financial liability if your motorcycle is involved in an accident, or is stolen or damaged - just like all other major motorcycle insurers.
All our policies include at least the minimum liability coverages required by your state, with the option for increased coverages, depending on your needs and budget.

Please make sure that your odometer is indeed showing the correct mileage, and is not on trip mode (see good and bad examples below)
You will receive a monthly reminder by email and text message, with a link to upload your updated odometer photo. After uploading, you will be charged according to the miles you rode!
If we do not receive your photo within 5 days, you will be charged according to a predefined default mileage of up to 500 miles for that month.
No worries though! This default mileage will be used as a credit for the following months if you actually rode less!
For example, Steve Jones has a policy with an $8 fixed rate and 10c per mile rate.
If Steve rides 100 miles in a particular month, after sending in his odometer reading he will be charged $18
What happens if Steve doesn’t upload his odometer?? He’ll pay a default mileage of 500 miles, meaning he will be charged $58. When he uploads his odometer in the following months, he will not pay for the first 500 miles that have already been paid for.
All VOOM policies are underwritten by Markel Insurance Company.
