Alabama offers several picturesque motorcycle routes that showcase the state's natural beauty and diverse landscapes. Here are a few of our favorite of the best motorcycle rides, roads, and routes in Alabama:

Little River Canyon Parkway (Highway 176) in Alabama

Located in northeastern Alabama, this scenic route takes you through Little River Canyon National Preserve, which is known as the "Grand Canyon of the East." The road winds through the canyon, offering breathtaking views of waterfalls, rock formations, and lush forests. With its twists and turns, the Little River Canyon Parkway provides an exhilarating ride for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Cheaha Mountain Loop in Alabama

This route takes you through Talladega National Forest and offers stunning views as you ascend Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in Alabama. Begin your journey in the town of Delta and ride along State Route 281. The road twists and turns as it climbs the mountain, offering sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy panoramic vistas from the Cheaha State Park observation tower. The loop continues through scenic forested areas and back to Delta, completing the approximately 60-mile ride.

Natchez Trace Parkway in Alabama

Although the Natchez Trace Parkway stretches from Mississippi to Tennessee, the Alabama section offers a beautiful ride for motorcycle enthusiasts. The parkway follows the historic Natchez Trace, a trade route used by Native Americans and European settlers. The road meanders through serene landscapes, passing through forests, open fields, and historical sites. Along the way, you'll find opportunities to stop at scenic overlooks, historic landmarks, and hiking trails. While the speed limit is relatively low, the relaxed pace and captivating scenery make the Natchez Trace Parkway a popular choice for motorcyclists.

Planning and Safety

These Alabama routes are great for day motorcycle rides and trips, for a weekend, or for longer. Remember to check current road conditions and be mindful of any specific regulations or advisories before embarking on your motorcycle journey. Safety comes first, so we recommend checking out our motorcycle safety tips before your trip.
